I am (finally) back from the stationery show, a trip bookended by bizarre travel experiences. I just love New York, but I am so glad to be home.
I am feeling so energized:
professionally
personally
creatively
sustainably
politically
confidently
The photo is from an apartment building in Morningside Heights, which I fell in love with thanks to a trilogy by Cheryl Mendelson. (I was also mistaken for a real New Yorker there, which is always a delight to little old me.) I am in the middle of the third book, so don't tell me anything if you've already finished it. I am a slow reader, and always dwell on the details.
I had an almost religious experience in Barneys, looking at the Alabama Chanin collection. Can't wait to order their book! Probably will post tomorrow that I have already ordered it.
The real joy of my trip was spending time with a dear friend. Four straight days together and we still talked through the entire flight home (though she may have been just stepping up to the plate as usual, since flying is not my favorite activity, and being generous seems to be her favorite activity). Teaching! Stamps! Addressing! Etsy!
