Sixteen years I've been doing this art-craft-business thing -- sixteen years! My, how things have changed. In the beginning I just wanted so much to let my creativity flow every day, to let my hands be the tools that would clothe me, shelter me, feed me. I was very lucky to get busy right away and to ride that wave as long as I could.
Enter two (wonderful) children, a more competitive economy, growing technology. I have never wanted to do just one thing in my business enterprise, I like having the door open. In 1998, I designed 108 wedding invitation suites. In 2008, I will probably do almost that many custom holiday greetings. Things change. I'm always looking for more.
I still can't decide what to name my etsy shop, but I have been working on new designs (see above) -- with matching return address stamps. I especially like making wee little treat bags for you to give -- teachers, hostesses, nannies.... I always keep a few on hand for myself when I need a last minute little something.
Right now I am also really enjoying the chance to do more envelope addressing. I have always loved it (except maybe the month before J. was born, when I addressed about 1000 envelopes with an oversized tummy). This summer I have been getting more calls about it -- thanks to all who have referred me!
If you open shop...I can't wait to buy stuff :)
I am stuck on a name for you...I will keep thinking.
