This is an oh-so-easy idea that I have somehow still not gotten around to. Wouldn't it be sweet to set out a stack of special books just for each holiday/season? (Maybe this is my inner-librarian speaking.) My 10-year old can read a Harry Potter book in just a few days, yet still loves picture books too. (Hooray!) So why not a stack of Halloween books on the coffee table during October? Tuck them away for the rest of the year.
This is the year for me to finally do this, and I'm starting with Halloween. What are your favorites for Halloween/fall/ Christmas? I really do want to know, so please send a comment or email if you have a moment. Thank you!
"the nativity" illustrated by julie vivas is my favorite christmas picture book. the story is nothing you don't already know . . . no room to stay, a baby about to be born, animals at the birth, some shepherds who visit . . . but the illustrations are absolutely fabulous. incidently it comes in both spanish and english text versions!
