Thank you Jennifer at Pulp Fashion for introducing me to a new manifesto, Style Statement. Discovering a blueprint for life, my own unique style guide: it's heaven on earth for a goal-oriented girl like me, a chance to actually embrace the journey. (I usually resist the journey. I want results! destination! closure!)
I must be one of many who had a vague philosophy of style never put into words. I know style is more than skin deep so to speak. I know it can be all-encompassing, empowering. I was hooked from the first few pages:
Communicate who you are in all you do.
On Jennifer's recommendation, I reserved this book at the library and didn't even have a chance to glance at it till a few days later. I skimmed a bit while the Friday night pizza was in the oven, and knew immediately that this is a book to pore over without distraction (and I have, well, a lot of distractions right now, thank you very much). Looking forward to buying my very own copy and bringing it on vacation. (Just four more weeks till spring break!)
I just checked at my library and they don't have it . . . arghhh! What library did you get it from?
You introduced me to Amy Krause Rosenthal and I LOVE her! Have you read Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life? So different from anything else I've ever read before. Her sytle is so fresh and unique and fun!
So, I'm sure I'd love this one too, I'll have to head over the bookstore and check it out . . . I was just there last night and am not sure when I'll make it again . . . really, you should have posted this yesterday!! Next time think of me first, will ya? :)
