I have been thinking (since last summer) of adding some one-of-a-kind pieces to my etsy shop...a little art, a little sewing, a little paper piecing. I hope to get at least a few items into my shop before the end of the month. You can start me in the right direction by entering a giveaway for a print of the above!
To enter, leave a comment on today's post with your answer to the following question: What is your favorite one-of-a-kind item you have purchased? It may be something you bought at an art fair years ago, or something you ordered from etsy last month. I'd love to hear what makes your heart sing!
Comments will close on Valentine's Day and I will announce a winner on Monday. Good luck!
I didn't actually have to purchase it, but my favorite would be an oil paining my dad did. it's an ethiopian landscape and it hangs above our couch!
happy monday, gina!

Beautiful piece! My fave is one I picked up in Rome 10 years ago, from an artist in Piazza Navona. Just seeing it brings back so many good memories. :)

I have black and white photos that my son took of landmarks here in town. I framed them and they are in my office.

Birds. I love birds. Not live birds...although I love them too. Just love them outside, not in. I especially love quirky folk art type birds. Have many cards, drawings, prints, calendars and rarely do I pass them up.

I like to order on etsy art that you can have personalized with your child's name. Would be even better if it was in your handwriting! Here is an example...

I love etsy, so pretty much everything I've bought (mostly prints like the one you're giving away!) is one-of-a-kind, but without a doubt investing in having family pictures taken has been my favorite "purchase" so far!

My favorite one-of-a-kind purchase is a purse I purchased for my mother on Etsy. I liked it so much that I had to order one for myself!

Oh, what a fun question! Mine would be a hand-painted brick my sis & b-i-l gave me. It was painted by a folk artist from Memphis, TN--- the last name of the lady is Young. It is of 3 children jumping rope. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have something original by you! Thank you so much!

My favorite one of a kind purchase is a piece of art that my husband and I gave to each other as our Christmas/anniversary/birthday presents this past year. I love it. It's an oil painting of a mother with a child on her back by a Columbian artist who now lives most of the time in the states with periodic trips to Columbia to paint and visit family. I see it every day and am so glad we made the purchase.

I bought a custom necklace on Etsy last year, and I love it!
And this print is gorgeous! Sara Evans' song "Born to Fly" is one of my personal theme songs, and this print just speaks to me. =)

I bought a stamp on etsy that had my name on it to use on cards that I create. I like seeing my name stamped and the people that receive my cards love it too. I can't wait to get a few more for variety.

I bought a funky purple triangle shaped clock at an art show in upstate NY eons ago... I loved that clock and defended it to no end to all those who commented it was so ugly... LoL! It wasn't ugly... it was just eclectic and brought me much happiness.

My favorite piece(s) of art are two dresses made by my daughters last summer through an MCAD class on fashion. The foundation of the dresses are paper grocery bags but you would never know it because they are covered in leather and tissue paper and hand crafted stamps, buttons, etc. Amazing pieces of art. And the girls beam when company notice and comment on their lovely art.

For my 25th birthday we went to a gorgeous trendy Italian restaurant with beautiful art on the walls. I love restaurants that support local artists and I purchased my first watercolour. It is vibrant, huge and has hung in every home for the last 20 years. It is my most prized piece, not for it's material value but how it lifts my spirit every time I see it!
