Lisa's comment yesterday got me thinking about all the excellent audiobooks out there. My daughter's hands-down favorite has got to be The Thief Lord, narrated by Simon Jones. His voice is commanding, yet melodic.
And we have a set of Ramona Quimby tapes given to us when J was still a toddler. Stockard Channing is an amazing narrator. (Sometimes I find myself saying,"Chapter 5: Ramona's Engagement Ring" in her lilting drawl, for no reason at all.)
Other favorites through the years have been Harriet the Spy, Because of Winn-Dixie, the Harry Potter series, any other Beverly Cleary we could get our hands on (most narrated by Johnny Heller and Neal Patrick Harris), No Dogs Allowed...come to think of it, we have listened to so many, I can't even think of them all!
Do you have any favorite kid lit audiobooks? Please share!
You're kids are maybe too old to have really gotten in to Junie B. Jones. I know some people don't like Junie B. because she's pretty much a stinker, but I think they are just too funny!
Happy Thursday, my friend!

My girls have been devouring the Chronicles of Narnia series over the last year. Sooo good! We love audiobooks for when we are in the car.

Ohhh- not a HUGE fan of audiobooks simply because I REALLY like bringing the characters to life in my head (it's such an indulgence for me, to do that bit of imagining and creation in my head as I begin to read a book) but I think Clearly audiobooks are going to be necessary, especially for car rides!
