Now that J is 12, there are dozens of darling kids' garment patterns being released -- for ages 2 to 7. I purchased this ModKid pattern last spring, but had to modify the size 7 to fit my nearly-5-foot-tall girl. I also tried my hand at homemade bias tape, which allowed me to use a pattern for the trim. The pattern was incredibly easy to follow -- if you are new to sewing, this collection would be an adorable place to start.
This looks great! I can't believe you modified it from a size 7. And the matching doll outfit is incredible. To make it both bigger and smaller- I am impressed!

SOOO beautiful! I'd love to make this for my daughter, however I don't sew - seriously- I can't even sew with this sewing machine, which my HUSBAND took pity on and moved to his office since I kept mangling it.
I love the fabrics, the colors, and the model- beautiful!!

So cute! My girls have stopped wearing cute. :( I miss the days when they were little and didn't care.

Okay, so how hard was it? It just looks so clean and sweet --what are the washing instructions too...
My 10 year old who is 5'2" would love this and we face the exact same issues --she likes younger clothes!
Thanks for the inspiration!!!
