For the past few weeks, I've been participating in an online class called Me: The Abridged Version. I've been wanting to write an encyclopedia of my ordinary life ever since reading Amy Krouse Rosenthal's Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life. And although I'm not using any of the instructor's templates for the online class (shocker!), I am using the time to assemble a critical mass of content. I'm going to be sharing the pages with you here, although in the end I may be editing some of them after posting. I'm trying to take a big picture approach -- and to that end, I made a short list for myself of topics I want to be sure to include, but which could be assigned to several different letters. (For example, the companionship I feel when reading alongside my husband at night could go under "c" for companionship, or "h" for husband, or even "r" for ritual.)
The album will be comprised of two-page spreads with a large photo on the left and text on the right (except for X and Y, which I might put together on one page since I only have a single sentence for x, and no photo.) I'm also trying out a couple of ways to add a (tiny) splash of coordinating color on the second page.
I feel like a bit of a cheat for starting with "i" on my blog, since half of this content is recycled material, but I only have a handful of photos done so far and i is one of them.
And I'm working diligently on the letter "k" for tomorrow -- any 11th hour ideas for me?
how about *kristen,* a blog-follower, fellow blogger, handwriting enthusiast & grand admirer of your work?!? :]
just a notion, y'know, if you're really hardup. ;)

I took a scrapbook class based on the same book about 4 years ago. Loved coming up with all of those letters. And I really like the personal touches you're adding to your definitions!

i love this idea and your take on inspiration is so good...we think alike...and for the record, i think k is for kiss...you know, all the different kinds...the little baby kiss, the sloppy kid-with-a-sucker kiss, the passionate kiss, even the soft donkey nose kiss...sort of like the beginning of love actually...

Oh, we vote for Kisses.
And we need to start this --we homeschool and I can SEE the pages in my mind's eye...
Thanks AGAIN for the inspiration!

kinesthetic is another k. If you are the type who learns by doing and getting your hands involved right along with your mind, this is the word for your learning style. :D
