This is lovely! I love Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child--filling shoeboxes for children around the world has gotten my kids to think year round about the needs, tangible & intangible, of others. That makes my heart happy. Thanks!

my daughter & i have been volunteering with austin pets alive!, an almost-all-volunteer-run organization dedicated to turning austin into a no-kill city.
three years ago, our city shelter was putting down over 50% of the animals coming in. three months ago - thanks in large part to apa! - our city shelter euthanized only 8%.
amazing, yes?? YES!!
oh, & we just adopted an apa! puppy - skipper inkspots! he's the cutest. puppy. ever! ;)

Gina, I LOVE THIS STAMP SO MUCH!! SO beautiful!
I really love to give to animal rescue charities (especially Best Friends and Angel's Gate http://www.angelsgate.org/) but I also LOVE giving Kiva loans (http://kiva.org). I like that with a little bit of an investment with Kiva ($25 to start with) I can help several people and continue to help even more. I'm a little addicted to Kiva, quite honestly.

As a household we support St. Jude's Children's Hospital and our local Lions Club which gives out scholarships to our local high school seniors.
I also really like Feeding America.

Oh, this is so lovely and cozy!
Parrots are often acquired without much prior research into their unique and demanding needs, so I really appreciate the work bird rescues like Phoenix Landing (http://www.phoenixlanding.org/home.html) and Project Perry (http://www.projectperry.com/) are doing.

Love this stamp! We just donated to Locks of Love. Anything to help those dealing with Cancer. There are so many charities! Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure is awesome. One day I'm going to do one of those races!

I always support CIBC Run for the Cure. My best friend fought breast cancer and won, and I'm thankful every day.

I support the BC Cancer Foundation every month. It is an important organization to me, not only because it supports research for a cure, but because it is also an organization that provides much needed support systems. I am thankful for everything they do to help more and more people fight and survive cancer.

One that we support consistently is Heifer International--I really like that it's a gift that gets passed on to more people as time goes on.

I really like the work of OXFAM in helping towards solving the issues such as poverty. I love how you can buy Christmas presents from them to give to others, little cards which are worth things like a goat for a family in a developing country.

I love the stamp.
The charity that so speaks to my heart is 'Christians Against Poverty' (CAP) here in the UK. Such a fabulous charity that just tugs at my heart strings.

My charity of choice is World Vision http://www.worldvision.org/ Like some of the other charities mentioned, they produce a holiday catalog filled with meaningful and affordable options to provide worldwide help.

I am really passionate about literacy. anything that supports and encourages kids (and adults, too) to read and to read well is important to me.
I also contribute to my church's humanitarian efforts. it's amazing how much they are able to do all over the world, especially during huge natural disasters.
