Once in a blue moon I like to trade with another etsy shop and a month or so ago, I received a package in the mail with several bars of soap and some lip balm. I liked it so much that I asked Julia from Belle Terre if she would be willing to share a set with my readers. Lucky you!
Belle Terre uses only organic oils in their soap and lip balm, they use minimal and recycled packaging, and they commit 5% of their sales to local charity. So far I have tried the Avocado Soap and the Vanilla Lip Balm. (I'm wearing the lip balm right now!)
Visit Belle Terre at their website, on etsy, at their blog, or on facebook.
Today's giveaway: Belle Terre Gift Set (your choice of one bar of handcrafted soap and one tube of lip balm).
Today's question: I love that Julia and Wayne of Belle Terre recognized what their priorities were and are committed to living sustainably. What is one belief or ideal you strive to live up to?
The belief I strive to carry out every day is to be kind to the environment. Someday my future Grandchildren will wonder how my generation was so selfish. I do not want them to think I thought so little of them, that I was that kind of person.

I strive to care about something (for me, it's animal welfare, being vegetarian, no leather, etc), but to also acknowledge and respect that my ideal is not the same as others.
As long as everyone is striving to be empathetic and compassionate about SOMETHING, then I figure we're all working towards a better world :)

oh, there are so many things i feel like i should be striving for.
i know one thing that guides my life (whether or not it should, i'm not sure...) is originality. i try to make everything i do unique.
in more recent months i have been trying to let my best self make decisions, no matter what my current self might be caught up in or distracted by. it's pretty hard, but i think it helps.
