I was in a bit of a rush when I took these photos (one week till Christmas, and I had to get the package to Chicago). I put this book together for my niece, with photos I had taken of her through the years and song lyrics. It was especially fun to put together because she is so photogenic!
I sewed this wool coat two years ago, but hardly wore it because 1) I didn't get around to sewing the buttons on the front; 2) last year fall lasted about two weeks; and 3) it got buried in my closet. With that wide lapel, having buttons turned out to be essential, and now it is a very comfortable coat to wear...perfect for the farmer's market on a Saturday morning.
I have just a few more random bits of stationery to share:
As I mentioned on Monday, I'm in the process of weeding out a lot of extra stuff in my studio. Want to help me? Just leave a comment on today's post telling me which was your favorite stationery piece from all the photos this week. I've got five sweet little grab bags to give away, and I'll draw the winners on Monday morning. Enjoy your weekend!
I was really feeling frustrated last week with how messy my studio is -- partly because I am just messy, but partly because my work has changed since I set up this space 10 years ago. So I dove in Saturday morning to get rid of things I don't need anymore, including several old portfolios. I have a file where I save one of each stationery piece I've created, so there's really no need to save more samples in albums that are falling apart. (Right???) Still, it was a bit of a walk down memory lane, and I decided to snap some quick photos to share. Each day this week I'll recycle some of my projects from the last 19 years, and on Friday I'll wrap it all up with a recycled-giveaway.
I made this after seeing an inspiring mixed-pattern display at Barney's (circa 2004). This is the item I can't seem to give up "because someday it will fit again." What's yours?
